About FORM 304 — Lisbon design studio working in stainless steel
FORM 304 is a creative studio based in Lisbon, focused on designing objects that can exist both through function and as standalone pieces. Our work explores the balance between utility, materiality, and form, creating objects that feel honest to their purpose while carrying a strong visual presence.
The design process begins with reflection: questioning what can be reinterpreted, reduced, or reoriented to create something that feels intuitive and true to its function.
Each project starts from an existing object, idea, or function, which is then explored through sketching and physical experimentation. Concepts are developed using foam and paper models to test proportions, structure, and usability before materials are selected according to their physical properties and behavior.
The final stage is production, where construction and detail become an essential part of the object itself.
Several themes continuously shape the studio's approach: the contrast between elements and materials, the visibility of the making process, and the relationship between industrial precision and raw experimentation.
FORM 304 approaches design as an ongoing study of objects. How they are built, how they are used, and how they occupy space.
